Huawei to Launch Commercial 5.5G Network Equipment in 2024

  • Peak download speeds of up to 10 Gbps: This is 10 times faster than the peak download speeds of 5G.
  • Peak upload speeds of up to 1 Gbps: This is 10 times faster than the peak upload speeds of 5G.
  • Latency of less than 1 millisecond: This is 10 times lower than the latency of 5G.
  • Support for 100 billion IoT connections: This is 10 times more than the number of IoT connections that 5G can support.
Huawei's 5.5G network is expected to be used in a wide range of applications, including:
  • Virtual reality and augmented reality: 5.5G will be able to support high-quality VR and AR experiences, with low latency and no lag.
  • Ultra-high-definition streaming: 5.5G will be able to stream 8K and 16K video without buffering.
  • Self-driving cars: 5.5G will be able to provide the high-speed, low-latency connectivity that is essential for self-driving cars.
  • Remote surgery: 5.5G will be able to support real-time, high-definition video and data transmission, which is essential for remote surgery.
Huawei's 5.5G network is still in the early stages of development, but it is expected to be a major step forward in mobile network technology.
